Job DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIES: The Clamp Truck Operator responsibilities include safety, quality of product produced, quantity of product produced, and effective operation of the corrugator by operating a clamp truck to supply the corrugator with paper material. The operator assists the corrugator team as needed to maximize the set up and operation of the corrugator in a timely manner. All individuals assigned to the Clamp Truck Operator position are to work together in a safe, efficient and effective manner to ensure the production of a quality product.
To achieve this level of operations all employees are required to comply with all applicable Plant and OSHA safety rules.
NORMAL DUTIES include the following.
- Move rolls and organize work-in-process area.
- Maintain a clean work area to include sweeping and removal of Trash.
- Manage roll room inventory and roll room presentation.
- Reconcile end of shift consumption Daily
- Report any incoming damaged rolls and dress rolls down when needed
- Complete stock take/cycle count daily
- Manage butt rolls
- Complete all task associated with Preventative maintenance program
- Correct delivery of all roll stock.
- Removes all waste at end of shift or as needed from docks and corrugator.
- Provides back up to the Roll Handler as required.
- Maintain enough paper on the floor to prevent corrugator from going down.
- Adjust to scheduling changes as customer needs require.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervision
License: Employee must have successfully completed the appropriate training programs for the operation of powered industrial trucks.
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); experience operating a lift truck is preferred.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret written documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, factory orders, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure (English and Metric systems), using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read an English and Metric system tape measure.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
