School Age Teacher

• Plan and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual development
• Follow EEC-approved curriculum and daily schedules set by the Center Director
• Ensure a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment in compliance with licensing standards
• Support children’s daily routines including structured activities, free play, meals, and transitions
• Communicate effectively with parents, families, and staff regarding children’s progress and needs
• Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff
• Follow all EEC policies and procedures including safety, behavior management, and special needs support
• Complete required documentation such as incident and mandated reports
• Participate in professional development and maintain required EEC training hours
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and center events
• Collaborate with team members to support classroom goals and address challenges

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must meet EEC qualifications for School Age Group Leader
• 1+ year of childcare or classroom experience preferred
• CPR, First Aid, and Food Safety certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
• Flexible and adaptable to classroom needs and varying age groups
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage a dynamic, busy, and sometimes noisy environment
• Commitment to cultural competence, inclusivity, and teamwork
• Ability to adapt teaching style and curriculum to meet individual child needs
