The Athletic Director will enlist the involvement of students, parents, coaches, officials, teachers, administrators, and community members to articulate a vision for the interscholastic athletic program that aligns with the educational mission of the school and its league affiliations. The Athletic Director will provide leadership for these efforts and establish procedures to implement this vision and its values.
- Serve on faculty committees concerned with athletic programs.
- Keep Principal(s) and Superintendent up to date on current athletic policies, trends and problems.
- Interpret for the Athletic (coaching) staff the important aspects of school and league rules.
- Represent the school at league and district meetings.
- Orient new athletic staff members to their positions.
- Become acquainted with local and state laws related to athletics.
- Assist Principal(s) in developing athletic department/program policies.
- Assist Principal(s) in interviewing, hiring and evaluating all members of the athletic staff and provide input on the annual performance of all coaches.
- Prepare eligibility lists as required by leagues and school policies.
- Plan and conduct staff meetings and keep a record of agendas and minutes.
- Prepare announcements and bulletins for staff personnel.
- Direct and supervise coaching activities.
- Ensure that all student athletes have a proper physical examination, insurance coverage, and completed required paperwork.
- Carry out all rules, regulations and policies established by the MIAA Blue Book and the school district.
- Coordinate and supervise all fundraising activities through coaches, boosters and other athletic benefit groups.
- Prepare for the needs of visiting games and officials.
- Prepare news releases on athletic activities.
- Release season schedules to newspapers and appropriate staff.
- Assist or direct coaches in field or gym preparation as needed.
Compensation: $17,500 per year.
Position Type:
Part‑time.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Letter of Interest, resume and three (3) current or prior employment references required.
