Preschool Teacher (Early Head Start Program)
South Shore Early Education, a program of the South Shore Community Action Council is seeking a full‑time Preschool Teacher at our Wareham location. 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Schedule is from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Base hourly rate: CDA $24.36/hr., AA/AS $25.37/hr., BA/BS $27.40/hr.

Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement daily lessons and curriculum plans using creative curriculum. Create and maintain a safe and healthy physical environment that fosters the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of students. Perform teaching activities that align with the Head Start Performance Standards regulations. Assist with meals, bus monitoring, and other activities as assigned.
Core Qualifications- Commonwealth of Massachusetts Early Childhood Education (EEC) certification in Preschool required.
- CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early childhood (or related field) preferred.
- Must be able to speak and understand English. Portuguese, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Arabic helpful, although not required.
- All candidates must undergo a CORI, DCF, SORI, and fingerprint background check prior to beginning employment.
- Valid Massachusetts state driver’s license.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
- Minimum requirements at employment include background check, driver’s license, age requirement, and Final date to receive applications (apply by April 9, 2026).
