Job Description

Wareham Public Schools is seeking a Physical Education Teacher for grades K–7. The successful candidate will foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and lifelong wellness. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about engaging students of all abilities through developmentally appropriate instruction and encourages personal growth.

This K-8 Physical Education Teacher position will teach PE classes to students in Grades K-4 at Wareham Elementary School and Grades 5-7 at Wareham Middle School.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver creative, highly engaging PE instruction, adaptive activities, and interventions that meet the diverse needs, interests, and physical abilities of all students (K-7).
  • Design and implement a robust curriculum strongly rooted in the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for Physical Education.
  • Evaluate student progress, maintain accurate records, and document grades using Power School.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with your PE team partner, school staff, administration, and the Unified Arts Department Chairpersons to ensure program cohesion.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive gym environment centered on sportsmanship, effort, and mutual respect.
  • Job Requirements
    • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Education or a related field.
    • The candidate must have a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Physical Education (preferably K-8) and successfully pass a CORI and Fingerprinting.
    • The candidate for this position must have exceptional organizational and time-management skills to seamlessly split time between elementary and middle school settings, and a highly collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and guardians.
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
