About the role

The ECDP Engineer I, Process / Mechanical is a two-year program in which participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable design and field engineering experience. As part of the Program, you will be required to review our plant sites, as needed. Expected travel is about 25%.Candidates for the ECDP Engineer I are required to have a Bachelor’s degree. Ideal candidates will be new or recent grads, with up to 2 years of relevant experience.

The ECDP Engineer I will participate in one or more of the following areas:

Plant upgrade projects, capital projects

Support operations and field assignments

The ECDP Engineer I assignments are based on a structured career development program, to develop today’s new hires into tomorrow’s subject matter experts and leaders. Assignments will be structured to fill the following needs:

The developmental needs of the ECDP Engineer.

The needs of the business and stakeholders

The resource needs of the Engineering and Projects Departments The needs of the Facilities/Operations Expectations from ECDP Engineer I:

There will typically be assignments of varying lengths structured to gain exposure to the main functions and systems making up the Thermomechanical Treatment Facilities, as well as the engineering fundamentals and processes supporting it. In unusual cases, assignments durations may be changed for business or personnel reasons. Based on the business needs and standard rotations map, ECDP assignments will be planned collaboratively with Engineering, Projects, and Operations leadership and the ECDP, coordinated by respective hiring managers during the two years’ ECDP Program.

Reworld's Environment:

Reworld’s Thermomechanical Treatment Facilities (TTFs) include boilers, steam turbine generators, steam condensers, metals recovery equipment, air pollution control equipment, conveying systems, waste and ash handling/distribution systems, plant utilities and cranes.

What You'll Do:

Reporting directly to the Director, Technical Standards, the ECDP Process/Mechanical Engineer will be providing support for mechanical aspects of capital projects, operations support and infrastructure assessment projects at various Thermomechanical Treatment Facilities. The ECDP Process/Mechanical Engineer will develop hands‑on experience with plant systems and engineering activities by performing tasks at increasing levels of responsibility and independence, aligned with technical development outcomes and supported by experienced subject matter experts and engineering professionals.

Responsibilities include but not limited to any of the following:

Plant Support Engineering:
Support engineering activities at facilities including field services work, shutdown / maintenance outage inspections on various plant systems, equipment condition assessments, plant performance testing, incident investigations and technical troubleshooting, using RCA/Problem Solving Methodologies.

Design Engineering:
Support design engineering activities for upgrade and new projects. This includes the collection and review of plant technical information, review and development of piping & instrumentation diagrams…
