Direct Support Professional

• Location Barker Road,Wareham, MA, 02538,United States
• Base Pay $18.00 / Hour

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer or assist with medications according to agency policy and state regulations.
• Support individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Individual Service Plan (ISP).
• Provide companionship, emotional support, and encouragement.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, recreational activities, work, and community events.
• Complete accurate documentation, daily notes, incident reports, and medication records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment.
• Implement behavior support plans when applicable.
• Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with household tasks such as cooking, laundry, shopping, and cleaning.
• Promote independence, self-advocacy, and community participation.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all agency, state, and federal regulations.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in human services, caregiving, or healthcare preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required).
• Ability to pass background checks (CORI/SORI) and other required screenings.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers when necessary.

The Direct Support Professional assists individuals with daily living activities, personal care, community integration, and achieving their personal goals. DSPs ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals while following agency policies and individualized support plans.
