Activities Assistant
The Tremont Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center is seeking a full-time Activities Assistant to join our creative and passionate recreation team. You will assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the recreation department to ensure an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the interests and well-being of each resident.
32 hours a week. 9a-5p, including every other weekend. Weekly pay at $16 an hour.
Responsibilities:
- Help coordinate and run events and activities programming
- Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires
- Organize group and individual programming
- Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming
- Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate their potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually
- Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team
- Document and report any unusual or significant findings
- Report all reportable events immediately
Requirements:
- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
- We can train the right candidate!
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- Must be knowledgeable in the Privacy Rule and ensure all staff comply with facility privacy practices policies and procedures
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing policies and procedures
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition
- Must participate in continuing education and inservice training
