Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department with a primary focus on Payroll Administration, Recruitment, Onboarding, and Employee Relations.
This position is based at our Wareham, MA branch and requires onsite presence five days per week.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for all positions, including posting, screening, interviewing, conducting background checks and offer coordination.
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Review employee time records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with managers.
- Process new hires, terminations, promotion, wage changes, and deductions in the payroll system.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation
- Prepare onboarding paperwork and ensure completion of all employment documents.
- Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and pre-employment requirements.
- Create and maintain job postings across job boards and applicant tracking system.
- Conduct exit interviews and manage offboarding activities
- Serve as a resource for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll and HR Programs.
- Maintain confidential records and HR documentation
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment and changes
- Coordinate new hire benefits enrollment and qualifying life event changes
- Support annual Open Enrollment activities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain personnel files and HRIS records
- Support OSHA, DOT and regulatory compliance initiatives as applicable
- Assist with audits and compliance reporting
Support performance review processes and annual review cycles - Assist with policy development and employee handbook updates
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years of Human Resource experience with emphasis on recruiting and payroll responsibilities
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS Software (BambooHR preferred)
- Strong recruiting and interviewing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Hight attention to detail accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets
- Visual acuity to read printed materials and a computer screen
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via email
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 based on experience and qualifications
