Utility Technician, Building Maintenance, Maintenance Worker
Established in 1907, the Wareham Fire District Water Department’s mission is to serve the public within the confines of the Wareham Fire District the best potable water at the most reasonable cost, provide the highest quality of service and to efficiently maintain competence, availability, and professionalism to those it serves.
ResponsibilitiesServes the Water Department in day-to-day activities in the treatment, distribution, and storage of water operations. Assists in the repair, installation, excavation and maintenance of water department meters, services, hydrants, water mains and other appurtenances. Performs routine and emergency maintenance and repairs of all District owned assets. Performs equipment monitoring, recording of data, meter reading and data entry utilizing water department software.
Attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures is required. Performs all other duties as assigned.
High School Education or equivalent. Qualified candidates are preferred to have a Grade 1 Distribution License (D-1) or Grade 1 Treatment Operator License (T-1) and have the ability to achieve T-2 and D-3 licenses during course of employment with District along with a 2A Hoisting License and CDL. Attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures is required.
Schedule and Requirements40 Hour Work Week;
Monday through Friday. After successful completion of the probationary period Water Technician will become part of the rotating on-call night and weekend schedule and will be required to reside within 30 minutes of Wareham.
Full-time Benefit-eligible union position; hourly range $26.00 – $34.00. The Wareham Fire District provides a generous benefit package including health, dental and vision insurance.
