About the Role
A Senior Accountant supports complex project accounting for the SR400 Express Lanes Project, a $4.6 billion initiative that adds 32 miles of express lanes in Georgia. The role entails preparing journal entries, reconciling cost reports, managing subcontractor insurance and bonds, and collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Job DescriptionThe Senior Accountant will perform the following essential duties:
- Prepare project journal entries and reconcile cost reports for one or more projects.
- Compile and analyze project pay forms to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
- Track insurance and bond information for all subcontractors.
- Assist in month‑end closing, budget rearrangements, and budget revisions as directed by the project team.
- Set up cost codes and cost types for project needs.
- Support field personnel timecard entry, certified payroll, and reporting as needed.
- Enter equipment time entries and reconcile equipment accruals for project needs.
- Support accounts payable and onsite invoice entry to track project expenses and payments, working with project personnel to expedite payment and resolve issues.
- Act as liaison between the project team and vendors or subcontractor accounting teams.
- Maintain knowledge of ACCOON’s values and strategic plan.
- Support published corporate policies.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
- 5+ years of construction field accounting experience or training preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Construction project accounting subject‑matter expertise.
- Proven ability to support multiple project sites with varying levels of complexity.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Strong time management and self‑prioritization skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Developing analytical skills.
- Takes personal ownership over tasks and asks for help when needed.
