Job Description
The Clerk of Courts Office is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional to provide vital administrative support within the Superior and State Court Civil Division. In this role, you will help ensure the smooth and accurate flow of court operations by applying knowledge of routine court policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and categorizing cases, making docket entries, recording court documents, verifying files for completeness, posting fees, receiving payments, and receiving and processing eFiled documents. Just as important, you will be on the front line of service—assisting court users and ensuring they receive professional, timely, and respectful support.

Essential Duties- Receiving, processing, and maintaining a variety of court-related documents in assigned area of responsibility. Reviewing documents for proper signature, ensuring fields are completed, verifying standard or basic data and explains court documents.
- Maintaining case file information, which may include: determining general case categories; making docket entries; assigning case numbers; case information data entry; and/or verification of electronically filed information.
- Performing routine customer service and clerical duties, which may include: greeting customers; answering phones; making copies; filing; electronically scanning and transmitting paperwork; entering data and/or typing standard documents; preparing, sorting, and distributing mail.
- Providing assistance to the public, attorneys, court personnel, and other interested parties regarding requests for information, information discrepancies, complaints, and other related information.
- Assisting with maintaining caseloads for assigned area of responsibility.
- Receiving payments, issuing receipts, recording and posting receipts.
- Performing other duties of a similar nature or level.
The grade for this position is A13(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma, or GED
- One year of office experience (court/legal experience preferred)
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Applicants must be minimum age 21
- License requirements upon attainment of position - Eligible to be sworn in as Deputy Clerk; GCIC Certification
- Incumbents to be bonded
- Legal and court experience
