The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for Full‑Time Educational Technician (Child Development) (NJ‑1702‑02) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the 78 ABW/78 FSS at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Salary Range: $40,736.00 – $72,644.00 yearly with locality. Posting Open: 2/17/2026. Posting Close: 3/1/2026.
Primary
Purpose:
Provide appropriate, specialized developmental care and instruction for children in the Child Development Center (CDC). Perform basic oversight and supervision for a designated classroom for ages 6 months through 5 years. Act as supervisor on duty when the CDC Director is absent, as needed.
- Provide specialized developmental care and instruction for children in the CDC.
- Perform basic oversight and supervision for a classroom of children ages 6 months–5 years.
- Be designated as supervisor on duty as required.
- Maintain safety and hygiene of children through constant supervision, arrangement of space, and management of equipment.
- Develop creative and innovative activity and special program plans.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Obtain and maintain a Security clearance.
- Complete required training:
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, First Aid, rescue breathing, and food handlers. - Training may be conducted during evenings and weekend hours.
- May be required to work outside normal duty hours.
- Pass physical exam and keep all immunizations current.
- Have regular contact with children (IAW Public Law 101-647 Section 231 and Public Law 102‑190 Section 1094).
- Undergo FBI fingerprint and State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check.
Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Knowledge of Child Development regulations, procedures, and processes.
- Knowledge of early child development theory, methodology, and practices relating to physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Knowledge of Child Development Center regulations, programs, and operations.
- Ability to develop creative and innovative activity and special program plans.
- Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with others and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to ensure the safety and hygiene of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, and proper management of equipment.
