Part-Time Youth Pastor
Damascus Baptist Church – Appling, Georgia
Position OverviewDamascus Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a Part-Time Youth Pastor who will lead and shepherd our middle and high school students. This individual will provide spiritual leadership, relational discipleship, and engaging Biblical teaching while working in a part-time capacity.
The Youth Pastor will focus on building a Christ-centered student ministry that partners with families and equips students to follow Jesus and live out the Great Commission—making disciples who make disciples.

We Are Seeking a Youth Pastor Who
- Has a clear and compelling testimony of personal salvation, marked by spiritual maturity and a growing walk with Christ
- Demonstrates integrity, humility, and godly character
- Has a genuine love for students and a passion to disciple the next generation
- Builds strong relationships with students, parents, and volunteers
- Leads with energy, authenticity, and Biblical conviction
- Is self‑motivated and able to manage responsibilities effectively in a part‑time role
- Undergraduate degree – preferred
- Theological or ministry training – a plus
- Doctrinal alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message (2000)
- Experience in student ministry or related field – preferred
- Ability to teach and communicate Biblical truth in a clear, engaging way
- Demonstrated heart for evangelism and discipleship
- Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings (midweek) and assist with Sunday involvement as needed
- Develop a simple, sustainable vision for student ministry appropriate for a part‑time role
- Invest relationally in students through intentional discipleship and presence at key moments
- Recruit, equip, and support a team of adult volunteers to help carry out ministry
- Communicate regularly with parents and involve them in their student’s spiritual growth
- Coordinate and lead key events such as camps, retreats, and outreach opportunities
- Encourage and equip students to serve within the life of the church
- Collaborate with church staff to ensure alignment with the overall mission of the church
Founded in 1820, Damascus Baptist Church has a rich heritage of faithfulness and service in the Appling, Georgia community. In 2025, we joyfully celebrated 205 years of God’s goodness and provision.
In recent years, God has brought vibrant growth to our congregation—welcoming over 140 new members and celebrating 40 professions of faith. What was once an older congregation has become a thriving, multi-generational church filled with families, children, youth, and seniors worshiping together.
We are financially strong, mission‑minded, and committed to reaching our community with the love of Christ. Our prayer is that God will call a Youth Pastor who will invest in the next generation—helping students grow deeper in faith, stronger in community, and bolder in sharing the Gospel.
