Job Description:

Pro Care Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a contract position within Marietta City Schools. The position is full-time and focuses on serving students with severe and profound intellectual disabilities at Park Street Elementary School. The teacher will work with 2-3 students who are wheelchair-bound, have medical needs, and are nonverbal. There will be a full-time nurse and paraprofessional in the classroom, ensuring a 3:1 adult-to-student ratio.

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with severe and profound intellectual disabilities.
• Provide instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student.
• Collaborate with the full-time nurse and paraprofessional to ensure comprehensive support.
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student needs and progress.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.

• Valid Georgia teaching certification with Special Education endorsement.
• Experience working with students with severe intellectual disabilities is preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Full-time position for the 2024/2025 school year.
• Work hours:
  
  35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
• Caseload of 2-3 students with severe and profound intellectual disabilities.
• Classroom supported by a full-time nurse and paraprofessional.
