Elementary School Teacher

Description

Provides instruction for students that enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards of Excellence.

Provides content‑related and appropriate instruction based on CHCS’ curriculum, incorporating Agriculture, Arts, and the Environment. Establishes a classroom environment that promotes active learning in the subject area and exhibits knowledge of performance‑based instruction and assessment.

• Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
• Accounts for student attendance and punctuality.
• Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures.
• Follows professional ethics in all work‑related activities.
• Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent.
• Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student’s educational program.
• Facilitates home‑school communication by holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications.
• Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction.
• Avoids behaviors that detract from staff morale.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited university required.
• Certification/Licensure:
  Valid Georgia Teaching Certification in an applicable field required, or eligible to obtain one.
• Experience:
  
  0–1 year classroom experience required.

• Proven communication and instructional strategies.
• Classroom management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Passion and ability to work in the outdoor environment, walk trails, etc.

Normal office environment.

• Physical activities associated with a normal office environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
