ESSENTIAL COMMITMENTS / RESPONSIBILITIES
Spiritual Growth
- Develop a vibrant relationship with God through Scripture, prayer, and worship.
- Grow in self‑leadership by increasing self‑awareness, self‑management, relational integrity, and resilience.
- Embrace Scriptural standards for behavior and attitudes.
Campus Leadership
- Communicate and model Inter Varsity’s vision for campus transformation and world changers.
- Create a culture of humble dependence on God and bold expectation for new witnessing communities.
- Lead students and faculty through Scripture, prayer, teaching, and discipleship.
- Set annual goals with teams for qualitative and quantitative growth, including conversions and leadership development.
- Design and execute plans to achieve annual goals, adjusting them throughout the year.
- Mobilize students and faculty to engage their networks with the gospel.
- May supervise ministry interns as delegated by the Area Director.
Missional Developer
- Intentionally gather, invite, and develop diverse groups to encounter and follow Jesus.
- Create opportunities for Scripture, worship, prayer, mission experiences, and conferences.
- Equip students and faculty to think strategically about campus engagement and proclaim the good news.
- Invite, coach, and equip participants to become effective leaders and to start new witnessing communities.
Organizational Collaboration
- Partner with local, area, regional, and national Inter Varsity staff and volunteers to reflect Biblical standards.
- Respond positively to the direction and coaching of supervisors and national leaders.
- Contribute to collaborative team meetings and relationships.
- Submit graduation student forms and support partnership with current students and alumni.
- Use national ministry resources and tools, including conferences, as requested.
- Complete reporting, planning, and review requirements promptly.
- Comply with all Inter Varsity policies and procedures.
Ministry Partnership Development
- Develop a team of partners—churches, alumni, volunteers—to resource the ministry financially, in prayer, or volunteer service.
- Raise 100% of the financial budget assigned by the supervisor.
- Communicate regularly with ministry partners through visits, calls, emails, and prayer letters.
- Develop long‑lasting partnerships with alumni and volunteers.
- Identify and invest in advocates who build networks of volunteers and donors on Inter Varsity’s behalf.
- Annually affirm Inter Varsity’s Statement of Agreement, Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement.
- Abide by Inter Varsity’s Code of Conduct.
- Believe and behave consonantly with Inter Varsity’s Human Sexuality Theological Paper.
- Affirm and behave consonantly with Inter Varsity’s Women in Ministry Statement of affirmation.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (four‑year campus) or an associate’s degree (two‑year campus or community college).
- Strong interpersonal skills for ministering to diverse ethnic communities and faculty.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software.
- Experience working with nursing students and/or a corner ministry, preferably in a planting context.
- Track record of advocating for NCF and nursing student ministry.
- Respected in the region, especially regarding nursing student ministry.
- Basic understanding of the nursing student reality and NCF, with a desire to learn more.
Coordinates and supports existing ministry, working with volunteers, student leaders, and local Inter Varsity staff to see sustainable chapters resourced.
In partnership with area/regional and NCF leadership, identifies potential NCF planting campuses and creates a 2‑ to 3‑ year NCF roadmap for the region, including critical campuses and support strategies.
Promotes NCF in the area/region through student conferences, staff interactions, and semi‑annual e‑mail updates.
Participates in other NCF and regional programming as requested.
Time commitment: 12+ hours/month; may be coordinated with another role. Supervision is flexible and may involve NCF directors or regional leaders.
