Overview
High Point University Senior Regional Admissions Counselor serves as a key member of the Undergraduate Admissions team in a remote capacity. The role is responsible for developing and executing a strategic recruitment plan within an assigned geographic territory.
Responsibilities Territory Management & Strategy- Develop and execute a comprehensive, data‑driven recruitment strategy for the assigned region.
- Establish and monitor goals related to inquiries, applications, campus visits, admits, and enrollments.
- Analyze territory performance and adjust strategies to meet enrollment objectives.
- Build meaningful relationships with prospective students and families through in‑person and virtual interactions.
- Clearly articulate the value of the university experience across all stages of the admissions funnel.
- Provide personalized guidance to prospective students throughout the admissions process.
- Ensure timely follow‑up and consistent communication with all stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with high school and independent counselors.
- Identify and prioritize key schools and organizations to maximize recruitment impact.
- Coordinate counselor engagement opportunities, including campus visits and events.
- Evaluate applications and render admissions decisions in partnership with university leadership.
- Ensure alignment with institutional standards and enrollment goals.
- Travel extensively within the assigned region to attend college fairs, high school visits, recruitment events, and more.
- Approximately 6–10 weeks in fall and 3–4 weeks in spring, with additional summer travel for territory events and programs.
- Represent the university at on‑campus events and participate in training and collaboration visits 5–7 times per year.
- Utilize CRM systems to manage communications, track engagement, and maintain accurate records.
- Contribute to broader admissions initiatives, including active participation in committee work and cross‑functional support.
- Foster a collaborative and professional team environment.
- Night and weekend work is required.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must reside within the designated territory:
Atlanta, GA. - 3–5 years of experience in college admissions, recruitment, or a related field.
- Experience in sales, counseling, or customer engagement strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record; must be insurable.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing competing priorities.
- Strategic thinking and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Entrepreneurial spirit in counseling, sales, or customer service preferred.
