Paraprofessional
Summary and Relationship to the CurriculumAll classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the District’s mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct whole group, small group, or individual classroom activities in accordance with specific program requirements.
- Help with all aspects of the daily routine.
- Assist with supervision of students.
- Follow the direction of the supervising teacher.
- Assist with student assessment, grading work, tests, and collecting data on student progress.
- Assist with routine record keeping.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for instruction.
- Assist with classroom housekeeping.
- Assist students with daily activities and school functions.
- Assist in ordering and inventorying classroom equipment and materials.
- Assist with school‑wide supervision.
- Participate in Professional Learning.
- Perform other duties as requested.

- Education and/or experience:
Education level must be in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines. - Certificate or license:
Certification required by the Professional Standards Commission. - Language skills:
Ability to read and comprehend job‑specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and position specific manuals; ability to write correspondence and reports; ability to articulate and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations. - Mathematical skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and conduct position‑related data analysis, including computing rates, ratios, and percentages and interpreting bar graphs. - Reasoning ability:
Ability to facilitate problem‑solving processes and synthesize workable options from given facts, assisting in the development of solutions. - Technical ability:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job‑specified technologies. - Customer service skills:
Ability to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, and students; collaborative and cooperative attitude; service orientation and willingness to assist others.
- Serve as a role model to students.
- Maintain appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards.
Regularly required to walk, stand, lift, and occasionally crouch or kneel. Must be able to exert or lift up to 50–75 pounds.
Work EnvironmentInvolves frequent travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations with exposure to traffic and outdoor elements. Work may take place in outside weather conditions; noise level is usually moderate.
