Job DescriptionAssists the classroom teacher in all activities including instruction, personal care of students, preparation of lesson materials, and evaluation of student progress. Assists students in boarding and deboarding the school bus and in all aspects of personal care, including eating, transporting, and toileting. Must have the physical ability to lift, pull, and carry 50 lbs. Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance. Perform other duties as requested and required.
Educationand Certification
High school diploma. Must hold or be eligible to hold a Georgia Paraprofessional License through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
IMPORTANT: You must obtain your paraprofessional certificate within 30 days of hire recommendation.
SkillsPhysical demands – must be able to stand and walk a minimum of six hours; lift, carry, and pull up to 150 pounds.
ExperiencePrevious experience as a special education paraprofessional preferred, not required.
Job Requirements- High school or trade school degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
