Coadjutant Instructors, Historic Preservation

Part‑time instructor positions for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and/or Summer 2027 semesters in the Continuing Education in Historic Preservation Certificate Program at the Mid‑Atlantic Regional Center for the Humanities (MARCH). Courses to be taught include Preservation Planning and Preservation of Historic Interiors, with opportunities to develop elective courses related to environmental preservation and climate change.

Teaching will be delivered in virtual, hybrid, and in‑person formats, as ten‑week 2‑credit or five‑week 1‑credit courses, and may include one‑day or weekend workshops. Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Historic Preservation, History, Art History, Public History, or a related field, with advanced and up‑to‑date practical and theoretical experience in historic preservation practice in the Mid‑Atlantic region. Prior teaching experience in continuing education or workshops for diverse student populations is preferred.

• Develop and deliver course content, including lectures, assignments, and assessments.
• Provide timely feedback on student work and assessments.
• Collaborate with MARCH faculty and staff on curriculum development and course improvement.
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.

• Minimum:
  Master’s degree in Historic Preservation, History, or a related field.
• Preferred:
  Teaching experience in historic preservation courses or workshops for diverse student populations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary preservation practices and issues in the Mid‑Atlantic region.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
