Qualifications:

Experience

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for implementing the community-based mentoring programs to support identified students and parents of students through academic and behavioral interventions.

  • Create and implement mentor training materials.
    • Conduct volunteer training sessions
    • Revise mentor handbook and other resources as needed
    • Secure and communicate mentor resources in a timely and professional manner.
    • Create dates and delivery methods of volunteer training sessions.
  • Create, implement, and monitor processes for the Office of Community-Based Mentoring.
  • Support local schools on mentor matching, training, recruitment, resources, and other identified support as needed.
    • Utilize Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring as needed - recruitment, screening, training, matching and monitoring, and closure. Support director in ensuring a strong and consistent implementation of school strategy across all schools.
    • Measure and monitor impact on student outcomes through implementation of a multi-tiered system of support and appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Represent the Office of Community-Based Mentoring at district meetings, community events and stakeholders' gatherings.
  • Assist in data collection, reporting and evaluation to assess program impact and support decision-making.
  • Support director in ensuring a strong and consistent implementation of school strategy across all schools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
