You will be deployed to sites when problems exceed local capabilities, working independently to diagnose and resolve complex system failures. Strong hands-on experience across PLCs, SCADA, electrical systems, and process instrumentation is required. You will work directly with site teams to fix issues, explain root cause, and strengthen on-site troubleshooting capability.
Key Responsibilities- Field Troubleshooting – Respond to escalated control system and electrical issues across operating sites; diagnose faults across PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred), SCADA, HMIs, and networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus); troubleshoot MCCs, VFDs, switch gear, transformers, and distribution systems; perform loop checks, signal tracing, and instrument diagnostics (flow, level, pressure, analyzers); execute repairs with minimal impact to plant operations.
- Electrical & Controls – Test and repair motors, control circuits, and VFD systems; interpret and update electrical drawings, one-lines, and panel layouts; perform testing such as megger, infrared scanning, and power quality checks; ensure compliance with safety standards including NFPA 70E and LOTO.
- Instrumentation – Calibrate and verify process instrumentation; maintain accurate calibration and service records; support proper instrument selection and maintenance practices.
- Site Support – Partner with operators and maintenance teams to resolve issues and transfer knowledge; provide informal training during site visits; document work performed and recommend follow-up actions; identify recurring issues and provide input on system improvements.
- Associate's degree in electronics or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in industrial process controls or similar environment.
- Strong experience with PLCs, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read schematics, P&IDs, and loop drawings.
- Proficient with calibration and diagnostic tools.
- Solid understanding of electrical safety standards.
