About the Role
A leading global manufacturer of heavy equipment is seeking an experienced Engineering Technical Lead - Compact Dozer Development to lead the development of a next-generation compact crawler dozer platform for the North American market.
This is a high-impact engineering leadership position responsible for product definition, technical direction, competitive benchmarking, and collaboration with global engineering teams to deliver a market-leading machine. The successful candidate will work closely with product management, manufacturing, service, and engineering stakeholders to ensure the platform achieves performance, reliability, cost, and technology objectives.
The organization is focused on expanding its market presence through innovative product development and long-term platform expansion.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the engineering development of a compact crawler dozer platform in the 80-100 HP class
. - Define product requirements and specifications across key machine systems, including:
- Powertrain
- Hydraulic systems
- Undercarriage
- Blade control systems
- Operator environment and controls
- Ensure compliance with North American regulatory, safety, and performance requirements.
- Drive engineering decisions throughout the product development lifecycle from concept through validation and launch.
- Conduct detailed benchmarking of competitive compact dozer platforms.
- Evaluate machine performance and identify opportunities for differentiation in:
- Productivity
- Operator comfort
- Technology integration
- Translate market and customer requirements into actionable engineering improvements.
- Provide technical leadership across major machine systems including:
- Engine, cooling, and transmission systems
- Hydrostatic drive systems
- Hydraulic blade control systems
- Undercarriage and wear-life optimization
- Structural frame and chassis design
- Electrical and electronic architecture
- Machine control and grade control integration (2D / 3D guidance systems)
- Partner with global engineering teams to coordinate design activities, testing, validation, and product improvements.
- Work closely with manufacturing, service, quality, and product management functions to ensure successful product execution.
- Support field testing, issue resolution, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in crawler dozer design, development, or product engineering.
- Strong understanding of:
- Hydraulic systems
- Powertrain integration
- Hydrostatic drive systems
- Structural design and durability
- Experience leading complex product development programs from concept through commercialization.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making capabilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across global engineering teams.

Travel- Approximately three months in Asia during onboarding and initial project integration
