Acquisition Engineer

COLSA Corporation seeks candidates to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future Air Force and joint service weapon systems. Positions may be filled at Wright Patterson AFB, OH;
Warner Robins, GA; and/or Tinker AFB, OK at various skill levels (Junior, Journeyman, Senior, SME).

Systems Engineering
  • Provide assistance in the development, procurement, sustainment and modification of aircraft systems, subsystems, components and equipment.
Avionics Engineering
  • Apply knowledge of avionics engineering in support of subsystem definition, development, integration, verification, ICD review, sustainment, modeling/simulation, test and evaluation, and airworthiness certification across hardware and software systems.
Systems Security Engineer
  • Support the Systems Engineer with program milestone reviews, test planning, and certification and accreditation packages.
  • Review, develop, and update applicable systems security engineering program documentation.
Electrical Engineer
  • Apply knowledge of electrical engineering in support of electrical power systems, avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, verification, sustainment, modeling/simulation, testing and evaluation, and airworthiness certification across hardware and software systems.
Manufacturing/Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Assist in developing and assessing defect prevention strategies and processes for hardware development, production and deployment.
  • Assist in performing quality assurance analyses to ensure hardware systems can be produced by controlled manufacturing processes at manageable risk.
  • Assist in conducting special studies and analyzing broad QA issues common to all U.S. government acquisition programs.
  • Assist in reviewing and assessing contractor QA planning and progress.
  • Evaluate quality systems of weapon system prime or subcontractor to the degree it impacts the system being acquired.
Reliability and Maintainability Engineer
  • Assist in developing an effective reliability and maintainability process that ensures user’s weapon system requirements are clearly defined and achieved.
  • Review the FRACAS and reliability standard reports.
  • Assist in reviewing the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements).
Software Engineer
  • Demonstrate knowledge of software engineering in support of design, development, testing, evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of software systems.
  • Apply knowledge of software assurance practices and tools for architecture analysis, source code weakness analysis, and binary analysis.
  • Assist in reviewing, developing, and updating applicable program documentation for software engineering requirements.
Systems Integration Engineer
  • Perform systems engineering to include design, integration, manufacturing, quality, industrial engineering, airworthiness, and configuration management.
  • Assist in developing, deploying, and maintaining processes to assure weapon systems are fully integrated and operationally safe throughout their life cycle.
  • Apply OSS&E and airworthiness processes, and provide risk assessments, safety analysis and recommendations.
  • Apply knowledge of systems engineering for system definition, integration, verification, sustainment, risk modeling, testing, evaluation, human system integration, crew stations engineering, OSS&E, interoperability, and airworthiness across hardware and software systems, including ground based systems.
Systems Safety Engineer
  • Accomplish system safety engineering tasks including risk assessment and system safety program for assigned programs.
  • Review and assist with development of system safety program plans, hazard analyses, risk assessments, evaluating contractor safety proposals, and assist with resolution of safety issues.
