POSITION OVERVIEWThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of natural gas–fired power generation projects supporting hyperscale data centers. This role leads both FEED and EPC phases, with accountability from NTP through Commercial Operation.
The position requires managing Owner’s Engineer, FEED and EPC contractors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead execution of gas‑fired power generation projects (combined cycle, simple cycle, and/or reciprocating engine plants) from FEED through EPC and COD.
- Single point of responsibility for scope, schedule, cost, and risk management.
- Drive project delivery in alignment with data center power requirements (reliability, availability, ramping).
- Ensure project readiness for financing and investment decisions, including alignment with lender and Independent Engineer requirements.
- Manage and coordinate FEED contractor and Owner’s Engineer activities.
- Ensure optimization for cost, performance, constructability, and permitting compliance.
- Oversee development of technical specifications, execution strategy, and contracting approach.
- Drive design maturity (30/60/90% reviews) to achieve a bankable, construction‑ready FEED package.
- Establish and manage project schedule, cost tracking, and risk registers.
- Identify and mitigate key risks, including supply chain, permitting, and construction risks.
- Drive corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget adherence.
- Implement reporting and governance processes to provide clear, executive-level visibility into project performance and risks.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in power generation project execution.
- Demonstrated experience managing FEED and EPC phases of large‑scale energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of natural gas–fired generation technologies (GT, CC, RICE).
- Experience managing EPC contractors and Owner’s Engineer relationships.
- Proven track record of delivering projects >$100M.
- Experience with power solutions for data centers or mission‑critical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with air permitting and environmental regulations (e.g., NSR, non‑attainment areas).
- Experience with hybrid systems (BESS, renewables integration).
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- Strong commercial and contractual acumen.
- Advanced project management and execution discipline.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional and external teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Decision‑making under uncertainty and schedule pressure.
$165,000 to $180,000 salary.
