Position
OverviewCompany is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Support Engineering Data Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our technical documentation and support materials. Your primary responsibilities will include researching and evaluating technical source data and specifications to ensure accuracy and relevance. You will develop and maintain various technical publication elements, including theory of operations, testing and troubleshooting procedures, removal and installation procedures, and schematic diagrams.
You will coordinate the preparation of illustrative materials to support these publications. You will conduct quality and in-process reviews, validating technical publications to meet high standards. You will develop publication elements that cater to all levels of maintenance for fielded equipment, minor systems, or multiple subsystems. You will collect, research, and analyze source data, validating it based on predefined assumptions, and estimate the impact of proposals or changes to publication elements to ensure documentation remains up-to-date and effective.
Responsibilities
- Develop all publication elements for all levels of maintenance for a new or fielded major equipment system or multiple subsystems, including theory of operations, flight manuals, testing and troubleshooting procedures, illustrated parts breakdown, removal and installation procedures, and schematic diagrams.
- Resolve source data gaps and inconsistencies with the originator.
- Provide art/illustration mark-ups.
- Update publication elements based on internal/external reviews, source data changes and equipment modifications.
- Collect, research and analyze source data to include equipment requirements, maintenance concepts, task analysis documentation, workflows and design concepts to determine impact to technical publications.
- Identify source data inaccuracies and take corrective action.
- Validate source data assumptions.
- Conduct peer reviews of completed publication elements for overall technical accuracy and customer format standards/specifications.
- Support customer verification reviews and take corrective action based on outcomes.
12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
Requirements What you'll needBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 1+ year of tactical aircraft avionics systems, subsystems, and components, including flight controls, radar, communications and weapons, power distribution, etc. This includes the requirements, operating principles, design variables, performance, and key interfaces.
- 1+ year of experience with technical data and publications for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
- 1+ year of experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 2+ years of experience in either military or civilian aircraft maintenance.
- 1+ year of experience authoring aircraft technical data.
- 1+ year of experience with reading and interpreting vendor data and engineering drawings, 3D models, wiring diagrams, and interface control documents.
- 1+ year of experience with S1000D & Interactive Electronic Technical Manual publication.
- Familiar with eXtensible Markup Language (XML).
- Familiar with Contenta.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master + 1 years' related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.).
