Overview
The role is responsible for supporting: planning, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance activities for dairy processing and packaging equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, improving asset performance, leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs, coordinating maintenance teams and contractors, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across dairy processing and packaging operations.
- Develop and maintain maintenance schedules to minimize production downtime.
- Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, and utility systems.
- Prioritize work orders based on operational impact, safety, and production requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Drive equipment reliability programs and root cause analysis for recurring failures.
- Track maintenance KPIs such as equipment uptime, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and installation of new production assets.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and spare parts inventory.
- Maintain sanitation and hygienic design standards during maintenance activities.
- Participate in audits and implement corrective actions when required.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with dairy industry regulations and food safety standards.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferably proven experience with dairy processing equipment such as:
- Pasteurizers
- Homogenizers
- Separators
- Fillers and packaging machines
- CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems
- Refrigeration and utility system
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, PLC, and automation systems.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) systems (1C, SAP PM, Maximo, Infor, etc.).
- Understanding of predictive maintenance technologies.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex production equipment.
- Familiarity with reliability engineering principles and maintenance KPIs.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities in a 24/7 production environment.
- Knowledge of dairy industry regulations and food safety standards preferable.
