The well-established, multi-discipline engineering firm is hiring a Fire Protection Engineer I to join their Atlanta office on a hybrid basis. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to execute engineering tasks, help manage components of projects, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, all while working alongside senior engineers on complex MEP‑T design.
With structured support from senior engineers, exposure to a broad portfolio of projects, and a long-established, stable business behind it, this is a strong entry point for someone looking to build a serious career in fire protection engineering.
Responsibilities- Assist in the design and development of MEP‑T systems using Revit and discipline‑specific modeling/calculation software
- Perform basic calculations and simulations
- Assist senior engineers with complex designs, plans, and calculations
- Assist in reviewing product submittals and shop drawings
- Respond to RFIs for assigned scope
- Conduct site visits under supervision to assess project progress
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Participate in internal project meetings, offering technical support as needed
- Stay current with industry trends and MEP engineering advancements
- Complete assigned work within project workplan time frames
- Submit work for review by senior engineers before client delivery
- Comply with QA/QC procedures and assist in developing project workplans
- Interact with clients as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering
- 3+ years of experience preferred
- Professional licensure or certification preferred (EIT, PE, etc.)
- Experience with Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of engineering principles and building systems
- Reliable, accountable, and receptive to feedback
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
