Job Summary
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) seeks a Full‑time Financial Management Specialist (NH‑0501‑02) to work at the 78 ABW, Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, Georgia. The role will serve as the Financial Management Specialist in the ABW Comptroller Squadron to provide financial management services for the AFSC installation customer base, manage the Civilian Payroll / Timekeeping program, provide technical direction, oversee audits, and improve internal controls.
Salary range ($40,736 - $97,087) yearly with locality pay. Job Open Date: 5/26/2026. Job Close Date: 6/2/2026.
- Serve as functional and technical manager for all finance-related requirements of the Civilian Payroll / Timekeeping Program.
- Manage the program, including local direction, implementation, oversight and administration of payroll systems.
- Act as liaison for base and tenant organizations for accounting management purposes, analyzing and resolving problems.
- Provide technical direction and general accounting procedures regarding regulations for civilian payroll/timekeeping.
- Track, report and audit data in the Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS) and review, validate, approve and pay all expenses, training, and claims.
- Conduct bi‑weekly audits of payroll reports and perform thorough analysis of program trends.
- Develop and implement improved internal controls and base‑wide practices to maximize program efficiency.
Obtain & maintain a security clearance; may be required to travel to perform temporary duty; may have extended or other than normal duty hours.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of commonly used accounting and financial principles, practices, policies and procedures associated with Civilian Payroll.
- Knowledge of and technical skills in using financial systems such as DCPS, ATAAPS, GAFS, Remedy and Microsoft applications.
- Knowledge of regulations require safeguarding proprietary information.
- Analytical skills to review financial data and reports generated from external and internal sources.
- Organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple competing requirements.
- Judgment in interpreting guidelines, adapting procedures or recommending solutions to complex problems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for training, briefings, reports, memoranda and briefings.
