Responsibilities

Lead the diligence and underwriting documentation of the most complex and larger credit relationships; prepare credit presentations and discuss with Credit Officer and final approvers, and coordinate legal documentation efforts through closing and funding.

Ensure loan agreements comply with approval documents, identify potential issues in documentation, and take steps to address them in consultation with the Relationship Manager.

Analyze financial statements and projections to assess client performance, risks, and risk mitigants for the most complex credits.

Oversee credit relationship and project performance monitoring, manage overall portfolio, and stay informed on industry and market trends.

Maintain Credit Process Metrics within prescribed tolerances; evaluate risk and compliance requirements; identify issues and follow through for remediation.

Manage the pipeline of the assigned portfolio to ensure timely completion of requests and meet client needs.

Serve as a client and internal point of contact for the portfolio, including site visits or visits with client management teams.

Provide real‑estate underwriting knowledge and expertise, including understanding of current industry and market trends.

Mentor and coach Analysts and Associates.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Investment Banking licensure, including Series
79 (Investment Banking Representative) and Series
63 (Uniform Securities Agent State License).
5+ years of experience in underwriting, portfolio administration or commercial loan credit decision‑making.
Experience in underwriting, structuring and closing direct and syndicated loan transactions (e.g. $25MM to $250MM+).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge of credit principles.
Ability to handle multiple priorities under time constraints.
Demonstrated success working in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate of Truist or legacy Development Program.
MBA in Accounting, Finance or related field, or an equivalent advanced degree.
