The Risk Operations & Analytics Team Lead is part of Chevron Corporate Treasury – Credit & Risk Control organization. This role drives business integration and transformation across Trading, Risk, Operations, and Analytics, blending deep technical expertise with project leadership to deliver high-impact credit, market risk and trading compliance initiatives, risk exposure system and valuation tools, as well as enhance risk analytics for a global, dynamic trading environment.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed problem-solver who strengthens organizational competitiveness through technology deployment, business process redesign, continuous innovation, risk knowledge application and ability to connect the business with functional teams.

Key responsibilities:

Lead cross-functional teams through the full delivery lifecycle — requirements gathering, risk system design, implementation, testing, training, deployment and production support and evergreen maintenance.

Serve as functional lead for business integrations, including onboarding new trading portfolios, products and instruments into existing trading risk systems, as well as new risk analytics and trade surveillance system production platforms and aligning data and process flows across systems including Energy Trade Risk Management (ETRM).

Own, streamline and standardize risk reporting, optimization for commodity portfolios (crude, refined products, NGLs), partnering with risk groups on market risk, pricing, exposure management and trade surveillance.

Define project scope and work breakdown structures, manage schedules, and secure formal acceptance of deliverables from stakeholders.

Drive continuous improvements across business and risk processes through innovation and simplification, including automation solutions.

Design and implement interactive dashboards and visualizations to enhance market risk, credit risk and trade compliance transparency and insights

Apply data analytics, transformation, and modeling techniques to support risk reporting, scenario modeling and decision‑making.

Leverage tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, SQL, and Python to improve data accessibility and usability.

Ensure consistent application and execution of trading controls and risk processes globally.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering (or related field).

15+ years of progressive experience in program/project management within Energy, financial services or related industries, as well as market risk management, commodity trading or financial analysis.

Proven track record leading and delivering complex, cross‑functional risk systems / projects and ETRM/CTRM implementations (e.g. Right Angle, Endur or comparable).

Strong understanding of commodity markets, trading lifecycle, and risk metrics (e.g., VaR, P&L, exposure).

Hands‑on experience across trading systems, business processes and risk systems.

Cross‑functional team leadership and change management experience, including managing globally distributed teams in a dynamic operational setting across multiple global locations.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to interpret complex datasets.

Proficient with data analysis and programming and visualization/workflow tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, Power Platform).

Ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a STEM field.

Technical certifications: SAFe Agile, Azure, and Microsoft development certifications, etc.

Advanced skills in risk quantitative analytics and modeling.

Familiarity with trade surveillance tools and systems.

Relocation will not be considered.
