RoleSummary:
As a Banquet/Catering Server, you will assist in all aspects of event service — including setting up event spaces, serving food and beverages to guests, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the event, and helping with breakdown and cleanup. This is an on-call weekend position
, so flexibility and reliability are essential.
- Arrive on time when contacted for weekend event assignments, ready for service.
- Assist in setting up banquet or catering event rooms, including arranging tables and chairs, linens, flatware, glassware, decor, and buffet or station setups as required.
- Serve food and beverages (plated, buffet, or stations) to guests in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
- Circulate with trays of appetizers or drinks when required.
- Maintain awareness of guest needs: refill water, clear plates, address requests, and accommodate special dietary needs.
- Collaborate with the kitchen, bar, and service team to ensure smooth event execution.
- Assist with breakdown after service: clearing tables, stacking chairs/tables, removing linens, bussing dishes, cleaning service areas, and returning equipment.
- Adhere to hygiene and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Wear all black clothing (black shirt, black pants, closed-toe shoes) for every shift.
- Communicate your availability in advance and be reachable when on call for weekend shifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in banquet, catering, restaurant, or event service is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
- Physical stamina to lift/move up to 25-50 lbs and set up/break down event spaces.
- Reliable transportation to/from the job site in the Houston area.
- Food handler certification preferred but not required.
- Professional appearance and ability to follow dress/uniform standards.
- Immediate start (7/11) for the right candidate.
