Linux Systems Administrator

Overview

Oxford Global Resources is supporting a direct-hire opportunity for a Senior IT System Administrator on a long-term, mission-critical DoD program. This role supports classified systems across sustainment, development, and lab environments and requires a senior-level professional capable of operating independently in a secure, fast-paced setting.

• Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in classified environments
• Support system sustainment, product development, and lab operations
• Provide system administration support for Operational Flight Program (OFP) and Test Program Set (TPS) activities
• Evaluate current system architectures and support large-scale system planning and upgrades
• Install, configure, and support LAN/WAN network communications
• Support containerized applications and cloud-based environments
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and security
• Operate at a Senior/SME level with minimal oversight

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance (must be able to maintain)
• Security+ CE certification
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• 6+ years of experience administering RHEL systems
• Hands-on experience with Puppet Enterprise and Red Hat Satellite
• Experience with software containerization technologies
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• 5+ years supporting DoD programs
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new technologies
• Expert knowledge of system administration principles, practices, and procedures
