Position Overview

Full-Time Chief Technology Officer (NH-2210-04) to work at 78 ABW/Communications Directorate on Robins AFB in Warner Robins, GA. This position is open exclusively to current Command (AFMC) federal employees. Applicants must submit their most recent SF50 to verify eligibility. Salary and Dates

2026 Salary Range: $125,776-$192,331 (Yearly). Job Open Date: 17 Feb 2026. Job Close Date: 24 Feb 2026.

Primary Duty

Serve as the Chief Technology Officer for the 78 Air Base Wing Communications Directorate. Serve as a senior IT specialist, analyst, and consultant for communications and information initiatives. Conduct in-depth analyses and apply analytical IT processes and supporting tools to the planning, design, acquisition, implementation, and corporate program management of new and improved information systems and technologies to meet the business requirements of customer organizations.

Serve as a senior advisor and support/develop/implement action plans and roadmaps for enabling Information Technology (IT) capabilities and IT investment strategies in support of communications and information goals and objectives. Serve as corporate advisor and support/develop/implement IT initiatives in support of communications and information across the ABW and global mission partners. Represent the Director at meetings, conferences and senior level forums as an expert consultant and advisor on communications technology issues/matters.

Bring significant savings and return on investment to the Command and other Commands through transformation of AF IT portfolio applications. Analyze all critical mission and business applications for potential improvements based on integrating and consolidating capabilities.

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

Skills and Abilities
  • Expert knowledge and ability to provide technical leadership and project/program oversight over highly complex cyberspace, information technology (IT), and knowledge management (KM) activities. Skill in developing new theories, concepts, principles, standards, and methods in the specialty area(s).
  • Skill in conducting substantial coordination among a variety of organizations and high‑level managers to identify and integrate internal and external program issues affecting the organization or agency, such as integrating IT programs with other programs of equivalent scope and complexity as well as those involving other technical, financial, organizational, and administrative factors. Ability to collaborate at appropriate levels with organizations both inside and outside AFMC, the Air Force, DoD and its agencies, and the Federal Government.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate member(s) of an organization and develop, implement, evaluate, and improve processes and procedures to monitor the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the organization.
  • Knowledge of DoD financial planning and programming processes, Federal budget cycles, project/program management, acquisition planning, and contracting methodologies sufficient to identify and defend requirements, integrate activities, and lead teams to meet cyberspace, IT, and KM mission requirements throughout the command and in inter‑agency environments. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of multiple organizational segments to meet program requirements, goals, and objectives within available resources.
