We support clients across financial services, insurance, healthcare, and emerging fintech platforms by combining deep domain expertise with advanced data, analytics, and technology.

EXL is seeking a highly analytical Senior Product Manager to support a fast-growing financial services client operating in the small business and revenue-based financing space. This role will be embedded within the client’s product organization and will play a critical role in optimizing and integrating a third-party decisioning engine with proprietary core platforms. The work directly impacts risk assessment, offer generation, and funding velocity for small businesses nationwide.

You will act as a strategic connector across pricing and strategy, underwriting, engineering, and external technology vendors, owning complex initiatives within the decisioning and offer-drafting ecosystem. This role reports into senior product leadership and partners closely with both EXL and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Decision Engine Ownership & Optimization
  • Own and evolve the product roadmap for a third-party decisioning engine, balancing approval rates, risk exposure, and funding speed.
  • Continuously improve decision accuracy and efficiency across multiple work streams to support increased funding volume.
Platform Integration & Workflow Design
  • Lead API integrations and data exchanges between the decision engine and internal core systems.
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure data stability, scalability, accuracy, and performance.
End-to-End Product Delivery
  • Own complex initiatives from ideation through launch, including post-release analysis and iteration.
  • Translate business needs into clear product requirements and technical solutions.
  • Serve as the primary bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders (Pricing & Strategy, Underwriting, Sales).
  • Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and business priorities to engineering teams.
Performance Measurement & Experimentation
  • Define, monitor, and report on KPIs tied to risk, approval rates, and funding velocity.
  • Design and execute A/B tests to refine decision parameters and quantify business impact.
  • Coach and mentor junior product managers, fostering strong product thinking and execution discipline.
  • Proactively surface risks, opportunities, and improvement ideas within the product organization.
Business & Market Acumen
  • Develop deep understanding of small business financing workflows, including underwriting and offer drafting.
  • Stay informed on competitive platforms and internal systems to inform strategic product decisions.
Why Join EXL for This Role
  • High-Impact Engagement: Play a critical role in a data-driven lending platform that directly supports small business growth.
  • Client-Facing Leadership: Operate as a trusted product leader within a sophisticated fintech environment.
  • Flexibility: Remote-first culture with flexibility around location and working hours.
  • Growth-Oriented: Opportunity to influence platform strategy while expanding your leadership footprint across EXL’s fintech portfolio.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally within Fin Tech, lending, or high-growth financial services environments.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience managing or optimizing decision engines (e.g., Taktile, FICO Blaze, Zoot, Encino, Provenir, Lendflow, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) or Revenue-Based Financing life cycles.
  • Demonstrated experience with API integrations and complex data flows across multiple systems.
  • Strong analytical background with experience using SQL, Python, or advanced Excel to inform product decisions.
  • Proven ability to receive feedback, adapt quickly, and engage in complex strategic problem-solving.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and strong collaboration skills.

Compensation for this role: 145,000-$160,000.
