Job Title

IT Specialist – Network Systems Directorate (MERC)

Location

Warner Robins, GA

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to resolve computer software or hardware problems.
  • Receive and respond to calls, e‑mails, or work orders regarding desktop issues.
  • Perform computer diagnostics, run commands, and monitor system performance to verify correct operation.
  • Set up equipment, install cables, operating systems, and software for current and new employees.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end‑user workstations and related hardware and software to deliver required desktop service levels.
  • Maintain records of daily support requests, including problems, corrective actions taken, and installation activities.
  • Coordinate major hardware or software resolutions with vendors.
  • Communicate with users and managers to establish requirements for problem resolution, new systems, or modifications.
  • Support and execute other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • US citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline, or a high school diploma with 1 year of directly related experience; a combination of education and experience also acceptable.
  • Demonstrated technical experience with personal computer hardware and software, including Windows, Microsoft Office, email clients, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Ability to install, repair, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Service‑oriented and able to communicate with users, peers, and vendors.
  • Research competence in PC issues and products as required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers, servers, and peripherals.
