Job Title
IT Specialist – Network Systems Directorate (MERC)
LocationWarner Robins, GA
Responsibilities- Provide technical assistance to resolve computer software or hardware problems.
- Receive and respond to calls, e‑mails, or work orders regarding desktop issues.
- Perform computer diagnostics, run commands, and monitor system performance to verify correct operation.
- Set up equipment, install cables, operating systems, and software for current and new employees.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end‑user workstations and related hardware and software to deliver required desktop service levels.
- Maintain records of daily support requests, including problems, corrective actions taken, and installation activities.
- Coordinate major hardware or software resolutions with vendors.
- Communicate with users and managers to establish requirements for problem resolution, new systems, or modifications.
- Support and execute other tasks as assigned.
- US citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline, or a high school diploma with 1 year of directly related experience; a combination of education and experience also acceptable.
- Demonstrated technical experience with personal computer hardware and software, including Windows, Microsoft Office, email clients, and TCP/IP networking.
- Ability to install, repair, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Service‑oriented and able to communicate with users, peers, and vendors.
- Research competence in PC issues and products as required.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
- Ability to lift and transport heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers, servers, and peripherals.
