Job Title
Network Systems Administrator
DepartmentMERC (Merc Engineering Research Center)
LocationWarner Robins, GA
Responsibilities- Resolve problems involving Windows and Linux server operating systems, application software, and hardware.
- Manage server disaster recovery, capacity planning, and data management.
- Set up servers and ensure proper installation and configuration of hardware, tape libraries, disk arrays, and operating systems.
- Maintain updated server and network infrastructure software, BIOS, and firmware.
- Manage patch update schedules and corrective actions for servers and PCs.
- Perform resolution of Windows Active Directory structure and configure Group Policy.
- Assist with implementation of NIST 800‑171/CMMC security baselines for PCs, servers, networks, routers, GCC High, and firewalls.
- Apply SCAP or CIS security baselines, conduct scans, maintain findings, corrective actions, and reporting.
- Develop documentation, processes, and procedures related to NIST 800‑171/CMMC compliance.
- Maintain current network drawings and support a five‑year lifecycle plan.
- Maintain an inventory of servers and network systems assets.
- Coordinate hardware or software resolutions with vendors.
- Configure and manage network switches, firewalls, routers, threat prevention, URL filtering, and VPNs.
- Assist with cloud environment configuration.
- Develop process improvements to meet business needs and CMMC controls.
- Maintain standard operating procedures for network operations.
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent) with 2 years of directly related experience; or associate degree with 4 years of experience; or high school diploma with 6 years of experience.
- Experience with NIST 800‑171 continuous monitoring.
- Technical experience with Windows Server operating systems, Microsoft applications, Microsoft Cloud, CAD suites, and server configurations.
- Ability to install, repair, and troubleshoot server hardware, software, peripherals, disk arrays, and tape libraries.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Experience performing systems disaster recovery.
- Service-oriented, with ability to communicate with users, peers, and vendors.
- Research skills and ability to read technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
