Job SummaryThe Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating all finished goods shipments, inbound/outbound movement of raw materials, and pallet handling. This role leads the warehouse team, ensures low operating costs, manages timely transportation, selects and negotiates with vendors, controls inventory, and maintains accurate documentation and equipment utilization.
Responsibilities- Direct and oversee daily logistics activities, setting priorities and resolving issues promptly.
- Schedule carriers and manage pickup/delivery of finished goods based on customer sales releases.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound material movements, including LTL and air shipments.
- Resolve customer delivery issues and prepare related paperwork such as bills of lading and shipment logs.
- Oversee inter‑plant transfers and returned ware shipments.
- Develop and implement inventory control programs to reduce losses and maintain accurate record‑keeping.
- Manage the maintenance of all mobile equipment, ensuring proper utilization, repair, and preventive care.
- Communicate regularly with Sales Service Reps, customers, and Sales to align logistics operations.
- Plan and execute process improvements to internal and external logistics systems.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to support company‑wide initiatives and present weekly KPI data.
- 5–7 years of supervisory experience in warehousing or shipping operations.
- Results‑driven with strong management, analytical, critical‑thinking, and communication skills.
- Experience in project and change management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), JDE, Lotus Notes, and a Warehouse Management System.
- Background in vendor selection, negotiation, and logistics coordination.
