Brief Description
Major Function
- Responsible for all production requirements in assigned areas
- Safety, training and certification of team members
- Ensure quality controls are followed
- Utilize Constant Improvement philosophy in daily management
- Tracking and reporting of daily metrics
Essential Functions
- Leadership must target safety first, 3C & 5S principles of manufacturing
- Assign daily production requirements and adjust manning as needed
- Review daily absences/tardiness/non-shift completion to ensure adherence of company’s progressive disciplinary policy
- Receive daily production order requirements and review specific inventory targets to ensure completion of production requirements
- Review reports of all downtimes, quality issues, complete a cause analysis and execute a proper countermeasure plan
- Monitor inventory levels of critical supply items, i.e., rolled metal coil, pallets and press consumables
- Ensure required equipment inspections are being conducted, properly documented and either recalibrated or repaired
- Manage team leaders to check press machine settings, lube or any leaks, and bolster moving area regularly
- All other support activities outlined by production manager or plant manager
Prerequisites for the Job
- Bachelor’s degree or (5) plus years of manufacturing experience
- Experience in supervising multiple groups of employees
- Good written and verbal communication abilities
- Able to understand and analyze SPM, Die Change Duration, line O/T, and Press operation efficiency
- Leadership ability to handle multitasking in a diverse production goal-oriented work environment
Organizational Relationships
- Reports to the Plant Production Manager
- Advises, consults, and coordinates with:
- Press Team Leaders
- New or current Press Team Members
