Description
Winpak Films is seeking a Slitter Operator to join our team based in Senoia, GA. The shift schedule is Monday - Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM.
In this role, you will be responsible for running and producing slit rolls, both to internal and external customers, as per customer specifications, to produce a product of the utmost quality that meets and satisfies customer needs. The Slitter Operator works safely and productively, producing a high-quality product while maintaining the work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Be able to read and understand shop orders and spec sheets.
- Set up the machine in an efficient manner while minimizing excessive scrap and downtime.
- Works safely and promotes safe work practices amongst the other Extrusion Operators.
- Visually inspects products for defects and splice-outs.
- Visually inspects machinery for maintenance-related issues.
- Works as a contributing member of the team, helping where needed.
- Shows respect and courtesy for other members of the team.
- Reports all safety hazards immediately to the Production Manager or to the Lead Slitter Operator.
- Reports all machine problems immediately to the Production Manager or to the Lead Slitter Operator.
- Prepares for the next shift as needed.
- Completes production reports neatly and accurately.
- Maintains good housekeeping around the machine and in the staging area.
- Asks for help as needed.
- Monitors raw materials and keeps an adequate supply.
- Monitors process, noting any significant changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred; experience working as a slitter or with blown film is a plus.
EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
Special Qualifications Technical Skills- Ability to read a tape measure
- Basic computer aptitude/skills
- Basic mathematical skills
In summary, the position will require lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional maneuvering of objects over 100 lbs. may be required with assistance from a co-worker. Requires use of both hands with occasional repetitive hand movements. Visual acuity is required for reading and computer work. Frequent bending, stooping, and stair climbing are required, with occasional reaching and squatting required. Requires 80% standing and/or walking and 20% sitting.
