Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Clorox is seeking a qualified machine operator to work at its Atlanta‑West facility. The operator will maintain, operate and troubleshoot production line equipment, ensuring efficient operation, minimal downtime and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities- Operate machine production equipment/lines efficiently, ensuring setup, running times and accurate maintenance.
- Perform changeovers on all equipment following established procedures and protocols.
- Troubleshoot, fix and repair equipment malfunctions using mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Identify and address quality problems, working with teams to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and parts; order replacements as needed.
- Assist with improvement projects and equipment installations in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA and company safety standards.
- Document all maintenance and repair work per established procedures.
- Attend required training sessions and stay up to date on new equipment and technologies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment (3+ years highly preferred).
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues.
- Knowledge of packaging equipment and processes and quality control principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
- Problem‑solving skills and root‑cause analysis (highly preferred).
- Transferable skills such as mechanics, maintenance, blow molding or machine‑shop experience (preferred).
- Military/veteran experience (preferred).
- Willingness to work rotating 12‑hour swing shifts (7am–7pm) with flexibility for overtime, weekends or off‑shift hours.
Starting base hourly pay: $24.15, with an overnight shift differential for rotating swing shifts (7am–7pm).
