Production Specialist

Overview

The BMA Production Specialist is responsible for assembling battery module units while supporting training efforts within the Battery Module Assembly process. This role helps maintain efficient production operations by ensuring quality standards are met and assisting with process improvements. The specialist also collaborates with the team to enhance productivity, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to overall operational success.

• Based on an understanding of the product and equipment, maximize production efficiency and produce high-quality products.
• Support issue resolution through root cause analysis, implementing permanent countermeasures, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
• Use appropriate problem-solving tools to deliver rapid improvement with sustainable results.
• Assist process engineering with part processing and troubleshooting to reduce scrap, cycle time, and downtime.
• Ensure adherence to standard processes for data collection, documentation, and reporting.
• Coordinate the efficient use of raw materials and ingredients in making products.
• Manage daily operations through KPI tracking, problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement to achieve KPI targets.
• Support and manage continuous improvement activities in safety, environmental, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives.
• Partner and coordinate with Engineering, Materials, Maintenance, and other internal departments to resolve issues.
• Coach supervisors on standard work, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and performance management.
• Ensure production teams utilize standardized work and consistent work practices across shifts and areas.

This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required.

• Strong sense of urgency and commitment to production goals
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and a positive, solutions-focused attitude
• Demonstrated accountability and a strong sense of ownership in your work
• Proficiency with standard MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
• 2+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience within automotive, aerospace, or heavy industrial environments

• Bachelor's degree in engineering/science or equivalent manufacturing experience
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting
• Battery manufacturing background preferred
• Fluent with CAD programs (e.g., AutoCAD)
• Experience developing and managing Capital Budget

Working Conditions: This position is primarily on the production floor and may require occasional overtime.

This position will begin on 1st shift and transition to 2nd shift.
