Systems Engineer
The Defense Sector, Decision Advantage Business Area at Leidos is seeking a Project Analyst to support the Program Manager in executing a highly complex program and providing comprehensive operational support. The role is primarily remote (75%) with up to 25% in‑office work at Warner Robins Air Force Base. Candidates located in the Warner Robins, GA area are strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities- Help develop WBSs, schedules, track status of CDRLs and work products and ensure they are delivered on time.
- Review team work to ensure high quality products are delivered to the customer.
- Communicate with the PM on workload status and provide early identification of issues.
- Assist the PM with subcontractor management, including developing SOWs, SSJs, and monitoring performance post‑award.
- Manage metrics for monthly status reports.
- Prepare briefings and assist the PM with collecting technical data to generate reports.
- Support program planning and cost estimating for the PM.
- Assist with establishing program plan requirements, delivery timelines, and key performance indicators, including monitoring and reporting performance.
- Develop graphs and trend analysis for technical documents and CDRLs.
- Help establish and maintain SOPs, user documentation, and training materials.
- Assist with change management activities, including agile software development methodologies.
- Assist with managing Jira boards and developing automation to generate reports.
- Interface with task and functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience managing and leading small teams.
- Ability to lead teams in developing technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts and deep analysis of impact on end products.
- Experience with technical writing and understanding technical documentation requirements.
- Experience reviewing technical work products.
- Experience generating trend analysis and working with datasets to create graphs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with customer representatives, domain experts, and systems engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex system problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in cross‑functional planning, coordination, and task execution involving the full spectrum of system integration activities.
- Ability to work well with people from diverse disciplines.
- Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness to travel as needed by the program.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Administration or another relevant technical field.
- Knowledge of Confluence and Jira.
- Experience with agile methodologies.
- Prior experience working for the Department of War, Air Force, or as a government contractor.
