Welding & Fabrication Foreman – 2nd Shift

Job Type:Direct Hire
Schedule:2nd Shift; overtime and Saturdays as needed
Pay:Starting at $32/hour + $3/hour second-shift differential; higher starting rates may be available based on experience.
Must have structural steel fabrication experience and previous leadership experience overseeing welders and fitters.
Position OverviewWe are hiring an experienced
Welding & Fabrication Foreman
to lead second-shift operations in a structural steel fabrication environment. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coordinating employees, production, equipment, materials, scheduling, quality, and deliveries.
The Foreman will help keep shop operations productive and organized while working with internal teams and other fabrication locations to meet project and delivery requirements.
- Supervise and provide direction to shop employees, including welders and fitters.
- Oversee daily fitting, welding, fabrication, and production activities.
- Manage shop personnel, equipment, tools, and materials.
- Maintain and update production and fabrication schedules.
- Coordinate deliveries and adjust priorities to support project timelines.
- Develop and communicate standard fabrication procedures.
- Monitor workmanship and maintain quality control standards.
- Identify ways to improve employee effectiveness, production efficiency, and quality.
- Coordinate with project management, logistics, purchasing, and other departments regarding schedules, product status, quality, and delivery.
- Communicate with other fabrication facilities when needed.
- Maintain equipment and building conditions as applicable.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels in coordination with the First Shift Foreman, management, and Purchasing.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Balance shop workload and communicate operational needs to management.
- Determine staffing and work hours as necessary to meet delivery schedules.
- Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Make operational decisions that support company objectives.
Required:
- Experience in the
structural steel fabrication industry
. - Previous
leadership, foreman, or supervisory experience overseeing welders and fitters
. - Strong knowledge of welding, fitting, and steel fabrication operations.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite
. - Ability to work
2nd shift
, including overtime and Saturdays as needed.
