Care Promoter 1
Care Promoter 1 is an unlicensed medical professional cross‑trained to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep medical centers running smoothly.
EssentialJob Duties / Responsibilities
- Measure and record patient vital signs and medical history.
- Catalog and communicate patient needs to physicians, clinicians, specialists, and other clinical personnel.
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests, assist physicians with exams, and explain treatment procedures and instructions to patients.
- Observe patients and report any changes in patient conditions to physicians, clinicians, specialists, or other clinical personnel.
- Perform non‑critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions.
- Collect phlebotomy and other lab specimens and perform basic waived lab tests.
- Prepare and administer medications; change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, perform other first‑aid procedures; use CPR skills when necessary, all under physician supervision.
- Maintain supplies, equipment, stocks, and sterilize instruments; practice OSHA safety standards; perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
- Process patient phone messages, return calls, and route them to other team members as appropriate; call patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician.
- Upon physician approval and authorization, call in prescriptions to the pharmacy.
- Use communication skills with appropriate medical terminology and follow legal and ethical professional conduct; authorized individuals will use the Chen Med Rx system to support physician medication dispensing.
- Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices.
- Follow up with coached patients via weekly calls.
- Perform other duties as assigned and modified at the manager’s discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with compassion and empathy toward patients and families.
- Exceptional oral and written communication, time‑management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate and partner with team members, including physicians and other clinicians, market leaders, center managers, nurses, case managers, and front‑desk staff.
- Mindset focused on resolving problems for patients and achieving team goals.
- Knowledge of medical products, terminology, services, standards, policies and procedures.
- Skilled in basic phone and computer operation.
- Detail‑oriented to ensure accuracy of reports and data.
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
- Ability to act calmly in busy or stressful situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and related software.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally and/or regionally up to 10% of the time to assist in covering other centers, as needed.
- Spoken and written fluency in English.
$17.0 - $24.26 Hourly
