The Nurse Manager assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the delivery of patient care and provides for the development and evaluation of unit personnel. The Nurse Manager demonstrates leadership abilities while maintaining the operational aspects of the patient care unit in collaboration with the Director of Surgical Services. Maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practitioners sites for consultation.

License & CertificationRegistered Nurse License with State of Practice - Required
National Certification - Required
CNOR - Preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required in 90 days from date of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required in 90 days from date of hire
Core Job Functions- Improve patient satisfaction according to standards. Assure CMS scores, nurse sensitive indicators meet or exceed benchmarks.
- Evaluates nursing care to assure high quality. Develops patient care programs to meet and exceed standards, goals, and regulatory requirements. Facilitates clinical quality/speciality nurses implementation of evidence based practice for achievement of goals. Supports speciality focused clinical operations for population health management.
- Interviews, hires, promotes, and evaluates co-worker performance based on established standards. Meets regularly with staff to improve processes and communicate information. Collaborates with staff to plan adequate coverage for daily operations.
