Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with Piedmont Healthcare’s Mission and Vision statements. The role functions within the framework of the LPN license and the organization’s policies and procedures, demonstrating professional growth and accountability. The LPN guides ancillary staff, collaborates with other health‑care professionals, and blends compassion, caring, and technologically appropriate competency to deliver holistic care to the patient.

Education

• Graduate of an LPN program (Required)

Work Experience

• New graduates of an accredited nursing school are eligible
• Nursing experience in a hospital setting (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse – State licensure (Required)
• BCLS – Basic Life Support (Required)
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Preferred
• ACLS required if working in Emergency Department (Required)
• PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support if working in Emergency Department within 180 days (Required)
• LPNs new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 180 days
