Step into a dynamic RN Med Surg/Tele role within a renowned Level 1 Trauma teaching environment, serving a 30-bed unit that specializes in both cardiac and progressive care patients. This contract opportunity requires flexibility for 12-hour shifts (either 7A-7P or 7P-7A), including a rotation of 5-6 weekend shifts within each 6-week scheduling cycle and shared major holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications & Experience- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a Med/Surg Telemetry RN
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required
- Basic Cardiac Rhythm (EKG Rhythm exam on onboarding) required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with trach care, central line management, wound care, cardiac monitoring, PIV starts, titratable heart rate drips, insulin, heparin, and glucommander
- Strong clinical assessment skills, especially in a trauma or teaching hospital setting
- Med-surg certification preferred but not required
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Manage a patient load of 4-6 individuals, primarily cardiac and post/pre-ICU diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, and sepsis
- Collaborate with CNAs, secretaries, charge nurses, resource, and support teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Provide IV and wound care, discharge teaching (particularly on renal and fluid management), and interdisciplinary care coordination
- Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Phillips telemetry monitors
- Maintain high standards in patient safety, documentation, and team communication
- Float among all in-house med-surg telemetry units as needed
- Supportive team culture emphasizing collaboration in a fast-paced setting
- 24/7 access to hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapy, and a central telemetry unit
- 1 day general orientation and 2 days department-specific onboarding

- Scrubs provided in designated colors (RN: Navy)

$1,579 - $1,728/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
