Range Safety Officer
The Range Safety Officer is responsible for the safety of all GGC customers and staff and is called upon to offer assistance for shooters using the range lanes.
Range Safety Officer Responsibilities- Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the GGC ranges at all times.
- Monitor all activity on the shooting lanes at all times.
- Assist customers with appropriate lane and target operation.
- Promote and smoothly execute instructional programs and shooting events.
- Know and follow emergency response plans when required.
- Keep GGC’s ranges and associated areas sanitary and neat.
- Maintain productive relationships with established customers and members.
- Attend training as required by Chief Range Officer.
- Work as a team player with all associates and departments of GGC.
- Assist with ordering of targets, shells, and other necessities for the ranges.
- Fill trap machines in a timely manner.
- Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with customers, members, and associates.
- Maintain a well‑groomed, professional appearance at all times.
- Process reservations and assign customers and members to lanes.
- Distribute lane passes and IDs.
- Check members into lounge alert.
- Process rental of firearms.
- Ensure all customers renting lanes watch the Safety Video and sign the Safety Waiver.
- Check for prohibited guns and steel ammo.
- Ensure customers and members have proper ear and eye protection, closed‑toed shoes, before entering the ranges or the shotgun viewing platform.
- Answer members and customer questions and articulate membership benefits and pricing.
- Stock range counter ammunition.
- Check customers’ ammunition.
- Clean rental eye and ear protection and vests.
- Clean and maintain rental guns.
- Run the P.O.S system.
- Answer customer and member questions in person and over the phone in a positive manner.
- Sell memberships, merchandise, and lockers.
- Check out customers when purchasing guns.
- Help maintain cleanliness of common areas and restrooms.
- Check phone voicemails and return customer phone calls.
- Stay current with special events.
- Communicate with RSOs to ensure smooth operation of the range and renting of guns.
- Assist RSOs with reloading trap launchers as needed.
- Follow opening and closing duties and ensure guns are in their proper place at all times.
- Adhere to safety requirements at all times.
Provide first class service to our members, customers, and visitors; manage difficult or emotional customer situations;
Ensure items are stocked and priced accurately;
Be knowledgeable of our membership programs to answer any questions in a positive manner.

Qualifications ExperienceMinimum of two years of experience; military experience preferred but not required.
Must be 21 years of age.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Once hired, the GGC Range Officer must pass the NRA Certified Range Officer course, First Responder, and First Aid Training.
Physical RequirementsCapability to draw back a bow of up to 70 pounds (preferred with or without reasonable accommodations). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Vision—must be able to see with or without corrective lenses. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
